Bike Ride at Rainbow Springs

The 2012 Dwight Fitzgerald Memorial Bike Ride benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Marion County will be held at Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon on Sunday Morning, November 4th. The event is presented by Progress Energy. This is an ideal event for the whole family, and is not a race. Choose a 12, 33, or 65-mile ride through scenic roads in Marion and Levy Counties. You’ll be provided with maps with well-marked routes. Breakfast and lunch are free of charge for riders. Helmets are required.

Lowe’s Donates Playground to Club

More than 50 Lowe’s employees from the three local stores on State Road 200 near I-75, East State Road 40 and near On Top of the World, donated their days off to build a new playground at the Boys and Girls Club of Marion County. Read the article online at the Ocala Star-Banner.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF MARION COUNTY FLIPS OVER FLICKS THIS SUMMER!

Regal Entertainment Group Gives Club Members an Opportunity to Go to the Movies for Free

Marion County 2010 – Summer’s just around the corner and soon parents and caregivers will be looking for ways to keep kids active, engaged and entertained.  Thanks to a partnership with Regal Entertainment Group, Over 400 members of Boys & Girls Club of Marion County will enjoy free admission to the movies this summer through the Free Family Film Festival. Regal Entertainment Group is also providing the Club with a stipend to help cover staff expenses and transportation.

“Our Boys & Girls Club members are going to be thrilled,” said Sandra Van Liew-Jackson; Executive Administrator Assistant of Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. “The number of youth we serve often doubles in the summer months; therefore we’re always grateful for opportunities like Regal Entertainment Group’s Free Family Film Festival that offers fun and engaging activities for our young people. Most importantly, we can leverage this experience to stretch their imagination, while opening doors to a world of exploration and excitement.”

Boys & Girls Club of Marion County shares the joy at Hollywood Stadium 16 located at 2801 SW 27th Avenue, Ocala FL  34474 local members share summer fun at the movies.

Boys & Girls Clubs have played an integral role in the Marion County community for 40 years, providing daily programs and services to over 500 young people.  The Club is open Mon-Fri,7:30-5:30 with programs that emphasize education and career enhancement, character and leadership development, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness and recreation.
