This Friday marks the 20th annual Elmer D. Smith memorial fish fry supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs. For just $7 lunch includes golden fried fish, hush puppies, creamy cole slaw and hot grits. Americana Music Festival & BBQ at Swampy’s Restaurant
Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County for the Americana Music Festival, April 20th from 1 to 4 p.m. during Dunnellon’s Bootmtown Days. The Americana Music Festival at Swampy’s Restaurant will feature live Bluegrass and Folk Music and an auction to benefit the Dunnellon club. Keystone Club Welcomes Ocala Sunset Rotary
Members of the Keystone Club hosted a dinner meeting of the Ocala Sunset Rotary at the Teen Center on March 7. The Keystone Club is the teen leadership and service club of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Recent activities for the club have included participation with Habitat for Humanity and visiting a local nursing home in coordination with the Rotarians. Keystone members shared their experiences at the club with the Rotarians and thanked them for their ongoing support of the club, which recently included provided new mats for the gymnasium.

Uncle Homer’s Memorial Bass Tournament
Come celebrate the life and contributions of HOMER CIRCLE, one of the most popular, prolific, and influential bass fishing writers in the history of the sport at Uncle Homer’s Memorial Bass tournament in Dunnellon Florida, March 9th. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County, Dunnellon Unit.

Rotary Golf Tournament for the Boys & Girls Clubs

The 7th annual Rotary Club of Ocala Sunset golf scramble will be held Friday, February 8th a the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club. Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m. with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County.
This even is a 4-person golf scramble. n a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. Handicaps for each player on the team will be taken into consideration for Net Score
Harley Davidson of Marion County will offer a Harley Davidson motorcycle as a Hole in One Prize. The event will also include raffle giveaways and prizes.
The cost to play is $100 per person or $400 for a team. Individuals will be combined into times. Sponsorship opportunities are also available at the following levels:
- $100 Tee Sponsor (9×24 sign on a tee box; name on t-shirt)
- $150 Practice Green and Driving Range Sponsors (18 x 24 sign the respective practice green or driving range; name on t-shirt)

Bike Ride at Rainbow Springs

The 2012 Dwight Fitzgerald Memorial Bike Ride benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Marion County will be held at Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon on Sunday Morning, November 4th. The event is presented by Progress Energy. This is an ideal event for the whole family, and is not a race. Choose a 12, 33, or 65-mile ride through scenic roads in Marion and Levy Counties. You’ll be provided with maps with well-marked routes. Breakfast and lunch are free of charge for riders. Helmets are required.

Club Member Attends Rotary Youth Leadership Camp
Louiza Jeanite attended RYLA camp from SSS- the Sunset Rotary Club of Ocala each year sponsors a youth to attend the RYLA Leadership Conference. This year Louiza Jeanite from our Silver Springs Shores Branch was chosen as the recipient to attend the conference which was held on the campus of Flagler College in St. Augustine. Louiza will be a junior at Lake Weir High School this coming school year and has been a member of the Silver Springs Shores Club for the past four (4) years. Louiza has spoken many times for our Club and presently works part-time at the Shores Club. She is the oldest of six children and lives with her mother in the Silver Spring Shores area. This is one of many activities that the Sunset Rotary sponsors for the Boys & Girls Club.
