Dancing with the Doctors is in its fourth year since inception. The collective efforts of the Ocala medical community and the Dance enthusiasts have raised much needed funds for the Munroe Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA and The Drayton Florence Foundation over the past years. This year, our efforts will be channeled to benefit The Boys and Girls Club and the youth enrichment programs administered through the Ocala Police Department. DWTD upholds the passion of the artists in the medical community integrating the poetry of the feet to the devotion in their hearts to come together for a greater cause. They dedicate their time, efforts and have put their hearts into this venture. We call upon our colleagues, our friends and sponsors to rally together for the future of our community and for the kids and youth programs that are in need of our help.

According to Daniel Lyons, Executive Director of the Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, “Governor Scott is strongly considering taking the the Mentoring Initiative line item funding and our Gang and Delinquency Prevention [money] out of the 2011-12 budget…”
This could mean a loss to our club of about $45,000. Governor Scott has only until this Saturday to make his line item vetoes and sign the budget.
Please contact Gov. Scott and your local legislators today to let them know that you don’t agree with this cut. Contact info is below:
